Mary Marie Miller 1st married Stephen Ingram on 10 Sept. 1901, in Bastrop County, Texas. Mary & Stephen were the maternal grandparents of Kenneth Clyde & Eddie Belle (Ingram) Blan's children. Stephen passed on 14 June, 1917, leaving Mary with four (4) children. Mary placed an AD in a paper soliciting a husband.
Robert Atwood Dillard answered her solicitation in mid 1918. Mary boarded a train with her four (4) children and arrived in Milton, Le Flore County, OK, not knowing a soul in Milton, travelling on faith, hoping for a good man. Mary Marie (Miller) Ingram and Robert Atwood married in 1918, in Milton Township.
Robert Atwood Dillard was the step-grandfather of Kenneth & Eddie Belle's children.
The front side of the card contains a note from Atwood Dillard to W. J. Neal. W. J. appears to have been living in Bunch, Indian Territory, at the time the card was mailed. br>
Bunch was a community in the Cherokee Indian Nation and is still called Bunch and is located about half way between Sallisaw and Stilwell and west of highway 59 about five miles.
The card was postmarked on Aug. 31, 1907, at the Blaine Post Office in Indian Territory. Blaine was a community in Choctaw Indian Nation and is now called Blaine Bottom in Haskell County, Oklahoma.
The correspondence reads:
Hello, W. J.
I will send you a pretty picture of three good ball players. This picture is for Emmitt.

The tall player on the right with his glove over his head is Atwood Dillard. The idenity of the other two (2) ball players is not known at this time. Notice that they are standing near a fence with a field of corn behind them.
