Nathan Hendrix

Nathan and Ruth (Dungan) Hendrix were among the first Quakers who came to America from Holland.  They settled in Pennsylvania.

 

One of their sons, John Hendrix[1756-1846], migrated to east Tennessee by way of Virginia. He married Hanna Kelly[1759-c1850] in Carter County on 4 June 1781.

 

They were Solomon's parents. Solomon served as a Captain in the 4th Tenn. Mil. during the War of 1812.

 

Solomon was married twice. His first wife was Susanna Hart[1793-1855]. They were married 1 April 1812 in Carter County and had 10 children.

 

After Susanna died, he married Margaret Dungan on 30 Nov 1858 in Washington County,Tenn.
