The following images are of the original Land Grant and Contract issued to Johann
Joseph Muller from Lenterode, Prussia. The land being granted to Johann Joseph
Miller was for 320 acres of the San Antonia Republic of Texas.
The English translation is to the right of the original Land Grant & Contract.

IMMIGRANTS – CONTRACT #2343
Through this organization which is for the protection of
German Immigrants in Texas.
Special Contractor
Director Mr. Graf Carl of Castell has given full authority
during his absence to be represented by his substitute, Mr.
Dr. Jur B. Hill, Sec. of this organization for the closing
contract with:
1st part Mr. Johann Joseph Muller
from Lenterode, Prussia
was the following contract agreed and closed. (other parts)
S. 1.
This Organization pledges the protection of this immigrant in Texas.
Johann Joseph Muller
besides his family, existing from nine persons, which he, his family, his heirs,
and rightful proprietor, takes in the best rightful Form: 320, to say three hundred
and twenty acres of land, to be taken from the lands lying in the San Antonio Republic
of Texas, so that, that land boundary in its present condition and location shall
be shown to the immigrant by an Agent of this organization.
S. 2.
The land boundary benefits the immigrant as a property and for all property owners
rights, from the day of rightful possession, only, however after a trial time of
three years, from the specific epoch counted will this land be transferred as to
the whole or part of it.
S. 3.
For the transfer of this land, certain rules become necessary and must be followed,
that the immigrant must:
- must live on the land three consecutive years, as counted from the day of possession.
- in this same period of time, to clear and hold in cultivation fifteen (15) acres of land.
- to erect a dwelling house on the land.
- to submit the acquired Colonization plans and lawful destination of the land in general.

S. 4.
As the immigrant is burdened by the cost of the lands, obligation, the organization
presents the following: having made provisions for these and all other immigrants,
this organization assumes the responsibility to take over and pay their pledges
to the grant until all debts are paid in its entirety.
S. 5.
Present earned titles will be received in Texas through its own governmental laws,
at the request of the named immigrant, definite property information, unaltered,
and three years after the date of possession, and when the above specific rules
have been fulfilled.
S. 6.
By not punctually fulfilling the above rules by the immigrant, he will lose the
present right to his grant, and it falls to the organization to be indebted to the
grant (colinizater) (This was in the Fischer grant) (added information)
Present contact shall be duly and truly handled and observed by the contractor in
every point, and the same vows to his own undersigned signature.
So made in Bremen October 13, 1845.
